SHOTS FIRED! Trump Faces Chaos As Media Reacts
Jay-Z took aim at some allies that he used to have. Clearly allies no more because he went after the trifecta at a concert over the weekend: Nicki Minaj, Drake, and Kanye, and others, but those three in particular, because those are people that in the past he has worked with very successfully, but they have also had a lot to say about him over the last year or so, and he has not responded to any of them.
So, over the weekend he performed at the Roots Picnic, and before the music could get started, he decided he was just going to drop a freestyle. And it actually seemed like the band, the Roots, did not even know he was going to do this.
But they played along, didn’t they?
They waited until he got—no, this was just free. There was no music. No music. And he had something for all of those people we just mentioned. And we will start with Nicki Minaj because yes, Nicki’s husband got thrown into this too.
“That lady back on the stuff, she sound like she in love with him. Her king can’t even take they piss. Enough of them. The rapper can’t be my eye. I got MAGA Republicans. Them shots came from the very top of the government. Good luck with them.”
So obviously he is talking about Kenneth Petty. Is this because she had said bad things about him or that she was MAGA? She has been saying bad things about him all along. And the fact that she is aligned with MAGA now is what he used as the ammo against her. But yes, she has been bad-mouthing him over money essentially, saying he owes her money from the Tidal deal, and that he has been orchestrating smear campaigns, taking down her career. She has been going after Jay-Z for quite some time now, and anybody who stands next to him, she goes after them also. So that is Nicki.
Kanye. Well, we know that Kanye has gone crazy on him for ten years. See, interesting you would say that he has gone crazy on him because that is how you knew. Again, he did not say Kanye’s name, but it is very clear who he is talking about.
“Heard of a wonderkin, my children, and some of them have no shame. You’re trying to get under skin. I really did get under skin. That’s on his with your thumbs again. Everybody think they’re the ones insane. You’re no maniac. Watch how sane I act in my presence.”
He also said the wonderkin, which is what Kanye was. So he is dissing his mental illness. Yeah. He said he ain’t no maniac. Let us see how sane he acts when he is around. Basically saying he acts insane and manic to the public eye, and you guys give him a pass. So he is saying this is intentional, like it is an act, because he says whenever Kanye is around me, he does not act like a maniac. He does not act inappropriate. He knows how to act when he comes around me. So it seems like—it is actually really interesting.

It is interesting except that what is curious to me about that is I do not know how much time they spend together now. It is very rare that they are in the same place. Unless they keep it on the down low and they hang out and do not tell people, because you know what would be huge news if they were actually—before Kanye was 5150, he got on stage in L.A. and just went after Jay-Z. So no love lost there.
Third, Drake. So on Honestly, Nevermind, Drake’s new album, he makes a reference kind of saying that Jay-Z has time—he is basically saying Jay-Z’s time has passed and I am the leader now. Yeah, that is exactly what he said. Jay’s response to him was, “No, could never be. That guy looked up to me. You have always looked up to me. I am the guy. You are looking at the wrong charts, my boy. We are not in the same.”
So a lot of people say there is this expression that they used to have for deodorant commercials: don’t let him see you sweat. And it feels like it got to Jay-Z that all of these things got to him, that he was angry, that it has been bottled up and he finally released it over the weekend. Is that a good play or a bad play for somebody like Jay-Z?
I think Jay-Z had to respond. People had been, for whatever reason, Jay-Z has been pretty quiet for the last year. Some people think that it was tied to Diddy being on trial and that he did not want to have to answer any questions, right? But whatever it is, he has been quiet and everyone has been talking smack about him, they have been saying different things either on music or just on social media. And he felt like because he is now returning to performing that he had to respond to all that before just getting to the music. But after this, by the way, there was a very great concert.
So why did not he have the Roots perform with him? With this thing, I mean, if he was playing like slam poetry almost, this was not like—you are not going to have people—no, no, but was he trying to make it seem like it was spontaneous when it was not? No, I think it was spontaneous for him. And the idea of a freestyle, you do not have to have music with you. He is just doing—you are right. Played more like slam poetry. And at the end of it, he said something that was the cue to the band where they knew and they started the concert.
I am out of my comfort zone here, so I do not want you to just shut up. Good idea.
“Jordan from Jersey here. W for Jay. This man dissed like fifty rappers in one sitting. He had a full-on lion’s mane of sacred hair. W to Jay-Z. I love the line when he said, ‘It’s going to cost you a beat to say my name.’ Did y’all hear the double entendre? His wife’s name is Beyoncé. She is known for her song ‘Say My Name.’ And then he waited until after the cease-and-desist cleared. This was very well thought out. W to Jay-Z. Shout out to Mr. Carter.”
Deep knowledge. That was good. Absolutely.
This should be an exciting day for Serena Williams where her fans can just say yes, the G.O.A.T. is coming back to tennis. She made the announcement today with a Nike commercial. But here is the only part of this that I feel takes a little of the shine away. She was denying it. Yeah. Six months ago she kind of did. She said to her fans, “Guys, I am not coming back.” This became a big thing because she basically re-entered she registered with the group that does drug testing for professional tennis players. Why would you do that if you are retired? And everybody was saying, “Well, Serena is coming back.” So she was saying, “No, I am not.” And as a matter of fact, this is from the Today show in January, which is four months ago, asking her about it. And I love the way they ask. It is like, you know, they want to ask the stuff we want to ask, but they couch it like, “Oh, I had to ask this question.” So it went nowhere, but it is fun.
“Recently, let’s see, tell me if I have this right. You re-entered what they call it—like the drug testing pool—which some people see as like the precursor to a return to tennis. So, you know, I have to ask, are you returning to professional tennis?”
“I mean, really? Are you asking this on the Today show?”
“Yes, I am.”
“Oh my gosh, they would kill me if I did not. Tennis Nation, all your fans.”
“Oh my goodness. Yeah.”
“Oh my goodness.”
“Is that a no?”
“Is that a no?”
“Well, now you are making me feel like you are upset or laughing. This is distracting. You are distracting us over there.”
“Okay. So you did not say yes or no.”
“I am just having fun and enjoying my life right now.”
Just having fun and enjoying not answering your question. With GLP-1, I might add, which I think is—
So you think that that is part of what is going on? I think it is at the core of this. Serena Williams is in the best shape of her life, and I think it has shaved years off in terms of her ability to perform. I really do. But you are saying she is in the best shape of her life for just a walk-around human being. No, I am saying for—but it is kind of hard to argue that she was not in great shape because she is the greatest tennis player, women’s tennis player of all time.
Why did she retire? She did say because she had a kid. After having kids, it was tough to get back to her playing weight. And she said this is great for athletes, but at the same time, there are studies out there that they are trying to figure out because of the muscle mass that you lose, is this beneficial to athletes? So right. I mean, is she going to be in the best tennis shape of her life? It reduces inflammation, which has got to help performance, right? I mean, look, I do not know. It will be really interesting. She will be a case study. But the idea that if you go on GLP-1 and you lose weight and you get back into the shape that you wanted to be in and all of a sudden you say, “Wait a minute, when I retired, I did not know I could still be this,” and she kind of goes back in time. I think that is really interesting.
The reason why she is playing doubles is if she comes back and gets smoked, she can blame her partner. And by the way, her partner is much younger, right? She is nineteen years old. But also, it is just easier to play doubles than singles, right? It is just—I do not know. I played doubles. I hated my partner. And gosh, I was better off as singles.
Sounds like a personal issue. We were both hot. Yeah.
“Hey, I am Erica from Rancho Cucamonga. And all I can say is, oh my gosh, the queen is back. Serena is such an icon in tennis, and tennis is about to get a lot more interesting. And look, now she is a mom of two, a wife, a total boss babe. And she is going to show women that you can be all those things and still do what you love. And I know a while ago she said that she might not make a return to tennis, but God forbid a girl wants to keep her cards close. Like she can do whatever she wants. We are just excited to see her back.”
I hope she soars back to the top. I am excited to see her play again. You know, look, the reason that she did not say it in January or December is because you have to have the big rollout with Nike. Wow. And if it works, there is Nike money involved.
Martina Navratilova came back. Billie Jean King came back. Now you need a fountain of youth, not just GLP-1.
Mackenzie Shirilla is not doing herself any favors in the court of public opinion. Why are you bringing up the names of your victims in any way other than to say—unless it is just expressing remorse? Remorse. Be right back.
Mackenzie Shirilla is not doing herself any favors in the court of public opinion, and maybe the parole board in fifteen years or twelve years. Mackenzie Shirilla, if you do not know, we will catch you up real quick. She is the subject of the Netflix documentary The Crash. She is serving two life sentences for the murders of her boyfriend and one of their mutual friends. Two guys who were in the car with her when she slammed into a building at one hundred miles an hour. The judge said it was murder, and she is in prison appealing. She can go before a parole board in fifteen years. This is why she is not doing herself any favors. What you are about to hear is a phone conversation she had with one of her friends who is on the outside, but they are talking about a music service that Mackenzie has just signed up for in the prison, and she does not like the quality of music she is getting offered on that platform. Now listen as we play this for the name of her boyfriend and their friend Davion, who both died in that crash.
“Bro, they only got like upcoming artist. Like it is like if me and you recorded a song and put it on. Yes. It is like people like that. And I am sitting here like, I know I did not just pay twenty dollars for two hundred thousand songs of people that recorded in their basement. I am irritated as [bleep], and I cannot refund it. I called my mom like, ‘Mama, freak the [bleep] out.’ Like, I just bought this subscription. Like, like not even underground. Like, like Davions and Dom of the world. I wish it sounded like DaVon and Dom in the stew, but no, it is literally like—who is it? It is giving—it is giving—”
Wow. Why do that? Why are you bringing up the names of your victims in any way other than to say—unless it is just expressing remorse? Anything else. And by the way, this can be used. If you remember with the Menendez brothers, they were pulling everything they could at the parole board to deny them parole, that they had illegal cell phones years before. And for this, to show no remorse for the two people who died and to make a punchline out of them. It is actually very interesting because there are hours and hours of audio that we have from phone calls that Mackenzie has had with her mom and with her friends. In this one, she is talking to Rosie and her friend Faith. Rosie was actually on the Netflix documentary. And it is interesting because in all these audio calls, she is always talking about herself—that the conditions are boring, that her inmates are intolerable. And so the fact that she just willy-nilly can name DaVon and Dom like that—
At some point, a lawyer or someone needs to step in and say to her, “All of your phone calls while you are in prison are recorded.” She has got to know that by now. I do not think she cares. On every call it says it before. Yeah. It says this call is being recorded. But does she not—maybe she does not realize that it can and will be used during her parole hearing. Yeah.
Well, here is the thing. She is not thinking about a parole hearing. She is still what, twenty-one years old now, and she is thinking the parole hearing is twelve years. That is not in her head. It is going to be in twelve years, right? But it ain’t now. That is the problem.
“Hey, it’s Grace reporting in from Paris. Listen, it might all be fun and games to Mackenzie now, but she won’t be laughing when she gets denied for parole eventually for her complete and utter lack of remorse.”
As long as we are talking, what the hell is going on in the streets of Paris? What is going on there? I mean, you guys won. You do that [bleep] when you lose. Is it as widespread as it seems on the news, or what is going on there? Yes. It absolutely is. It is so funny because the day of the match, I went to do some grocery shopping and I thought the grocery store was closed because it was completely barricaded. Like the fans, the supporters, like they go hard over here.
Yeah, no kidding. Tell them to calm down. Also, good luck. Good job losing the French accent just to speak to us. Yeah, we did not even hear any of it. Well, I am not French. I am Canadian. I moved here. I figured. I figured. Yes.
Morgan Wallen played in Denver in an almost completely successful show. Actually, I am sure his fans think it was nothing but successful. One fatality. Morgan, yes, very upset about one thing during the show, and yes, there was a fatality to an instrument that was not cooperating, and Morgan basically took out his frustration on that instrument. So the thing is he could not hear the piano, so he decided to sing acapella, and at the end he takes his frustration out on said piano. What is the name of that tour again? “I’m Still the Problem”? It checks out. But the thing is, I do not know why you guys were all up in arms about this this morning. I mean, how is this any different from smashing a guitar? No, because that is performative, right? This is anger. If you were there, it would be awesome, though, to get the acapella version. And so what he pushed over a piano? You are right. It is not a big deal. It is just money. Kind of a tantrum. It is a lot better than throwing a chair.
Kind of a tantrum. Yes. It is better than throwing a chair off a roof. But that is the whole point, though. It does show that he still kind of has the short fuse, right? Yeah. I mean, I think he is probably a perfectionist and wanted it to go off without a hitch, and clearly someone messed up. Way to put a positive spin on it. I am just saying he probably wanted to have a perfect show. He just wanted to do the best show possible for his audience. He is a perfectionist. That is it. Good spin. Good spin, doctor.
“Hi, I’m Emily in Los Angeles. And I feel like this is kind of what Morgan Wallen has been known for. Like first we had the chair, now we have the piano. And I think his fans will forgive anything he does. And I totally get being mad at a technical issue, but at this point I feel like it is kind of anger issues.”
Yeah. He is as popular as ever. Oh yeah. None of this has ever had any impact on him. He is at the top of the heap in country.
A new season of Love Island is upon us. One of the contestants who is going to be on this season, his name is Shawn Rife, has decided to go on Love Island instead of being a police officer, which is very disappointing, as you would imagine, to a lot of people in Bethlehem. Be right back.
A new season of Love Island is upon us. I know that you got into it last season. Will you go back this year? Miranda writes, “Yeah.” One of the contestants who is going to be on this season, his name is Shawn Rife. And Shawn has kind of risked it all in some people’s estimation to be on this show. He had a job, a very good job. He had been sworn in last year as a police officer in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and now he has quit the force because he found Jesus in Love Island. He has decided to go on Love Island instead of being a police officer, which is very disappointing to a lot of people in Bethlehem who feel that, one, they need police officers, and also they invested time and energy in him. You invest money in these police officers so they can protect and serve.
So joining us now is the man who swore in Shawn Rife as a police officer, the mayor of Bethlehem, William Reynolds. Welcome to our Live, Mayor Reynolds.
“It’s great to be here. This might be the most boring seven minutes in our history, but—”
Oh, no. We are not going to make this boring at all. So why is this such a problem? Because there are people who take jobs and then do career changes, especially when they are young. So why does this get your goat so much?
“I would say that for a lot of people, they look at this as just somebody getting to make a decision that is in their own best self-interest, which is understandable. But every time we make a decision, there are people on the other side. And our job here, my job, is to take care of the eighty thousand people. So I answered a question when a reporter called. And I do not have anything against this individual personally. It is just from our point of view, it is like I tell my kid at the park: if you leave litter there, someone has got to pick it up. For us who are struggling like every city across the country to attract and retain police officers, there is an opportunity cost when we invest money in somebody and then they decide to leave after eight or nine months. So it is not even just about him. It is just about this general idea that when we make decisions, there are consequences that affect other people. And that is really why I answered the question the way I did.”
Are you concerned, Mayor, that going forward there may be other young recruits who opt for something related to either social media or reality TV as a sort of get-rich-quick, which does not frequently work out for them, but at least that they may be thinking they can get rich quick this way?
“We have a great city, and I do not think we are going to have an epidemic of people leaving for reality television shows. But I do think that in general it is harder sometimes to convince people about the stability and the value of being part of a job that you are connected to in the community. And I want to be clear, we have the best police department around. We really do. And they have this high level of trust with our community that comes down to the idea that when they meet somebody, that person is coming back around. They are on a bike. They are walking. They are coming to different community events. So we will always do everything we can to continue to recruit officers, and we are about to swear in five officers in the next couple of months. With that being said, I do think sometimes, and I used to teach before this job, that convincing young people that sometimes reality television or what is best for you next week might not be best for you five or ten years down the road can be a challenge. But that is really up to them. They get to make their own decisions in America.”
You know, and I think this guy gets to the heart of the matter here: Gen Z and Gen Alpha, they are not looking to get a gold watch after twenty years. A lot of times they move on and find other jobs. So in a way, is not this a blessing in disguise? Because this guy has only been on the force for eight or nine months. If you had somebody whose heart was not in it, but you invest not eight or nine months but five years, and then just when they become leaders, they bail on you because they are trying to find themselves—which everybody is. So in a way, is not this a blessing in disguise for you?
“Yeah, I would not say it is a blessing. I would say that you are right. People make decisions and they choose to follow new paths and take new jobs, and there is really nothing wrong with that. I think that one of the things we are seeing across—”
You just have a beef with Love Island. Come on. I am going to be honest with you. I never even heard of the show until about a week and a half ago when I heard that we had an officer that was leaving for this show. So I still do not know when it is on. I do not know what channel it is on. I do not know who watches it. But it is a situation where—I would say this, though. I think one of the things that when you talk to people is that part of meaningful work comes down to a job that you get to interact with people in and you get to grow in. A lot of times long-term relationships, long-term job placements allow us the opportunity to find meaning in our work. And when you look at our police department, we have guys been working for fifteen, twenty, twenty-five years. Kind of the proof is in the pudding in our community.”
Would you change your opinion though if he ends up hooking up with a really hot woman? That is—I mean, it is America. I understand that for a lot of people that is goal number one. The love of his life on Love Island. If he finds the love of his life. But like I said, it is ultimately up to him whether or not it is worth it to him or not. We are just worried about building parks, building housing, making safer roads, and that just takes people that are here that we can trust. And we will move forward.
“For new recruits, would you look at them and think, ‘This one is too good-looking. He might bail. This one is just too good-looking. He has got reality TV written all over him’?”
“Maybe. I do not think that is a question on the civil service test. I do not think it is on there.”
You might want to add it. You should think about revising it with the calendars that are coming out and the reality shows. Honestly, you are welcome for this idea.
“Yes, we are trying to help out the community.”
“I will pass it along to the HR department to see what their thoughts are.”
Mayor Reynolds, thank you so much for being with us. By the way, if you are curious and you want to see how Shawn does, it is premiering tomorrow night on Peacock. So check it out, Mayor. Check it out. See how he does.
“It will not be on television at home with our three-year-old.”
All right. Thanks so much, man. I really appreciate it. Have a good one.
Coming up, so you think that when people chant U-S-A, that is only just in support of the country? I do not think it is racist. I am not saying anything but racist. Do not bring a word into this conversation that nobody else brought up. What is it? A Trump chant. Be right back.
Welcome back to our Live. President Trump is basically saying, “I will take my ball and go home if you guys do not want to play the game the way I want it played.” The America 250 celebration party canceled. That is what he said. Why do not we just cancel the whole thing? Because over the last week there have been several performers who have dropped out saying that they did not realize that this was going to be so closely tied to politics, and more specifically what they are saying without saying it is President Trump. They did not realize that this was going to be a nonpartisan thing. It turns out not to be. They canceled. Trump went wild on Truth Social over the weekend, basically calling them losers, lousy singers. I mean, I believe the quote was something like, “Why are we even bothering with these boring entertainers with boring songs, no talent, just trash all of them, overpriced,” when all they are going to do is complain. So how about we just have a MAGA rally instead, which he will star in.
Now we should say yes, and obviously he would star in it. The organizers of the event are saying they are going forward and that yes, the president is probably going to be involved and will be doing some—it just seems like there was some subterfuge that happened here in the planning process. I am not blaming the president for this, but it seems like they did not let all of the artists that they were reaching out to know the full scope. A lot of it had to do with how it was being billed, and it looked like it was a nonpartisan event to a lot of these people who had signed on. And then when they found out it was not—because it seems like this was in disguise, right? And it seemed nonpartisan, but it was not. And now they are pissed off. And I think when they made it seem nonpartisan, they did that for a reason.
What sucks for these artists is that now you have President Trump trashing them when they did not get the full information. And maybe that is not on the president, but it is on somebody else. And that is the person he should be mad at. It was deception, right? Who deceived who? Was it Trump? Was it the organizers? But I think ultimately now Donald Trump looks bad. The event looks bad because you have got these people that are canceling. You are better off being honest. I do not think the singers look bad because he picked them at the beginning, and now that they are dropping out, now he is trashing them. But he picked them to begin with. So I think it is just unfortunate that this happens.
It is the same thing with Jackson Dart, the Giants quarterback. Seventy-seven point three million people voted for Donald Trump. And the fact that Trump supporters still need to explain or be embarrassed by the fact that they supported him, I find to be ridiculous. But it is the way it is. It is very polarizing.
Take for instance, another polarizing thing that happened in music. Last night, the Black Crowes were playing in Tampa. There is a lot of military there. At some point, they put an image up on the screen of their logo, the Black Crow, but in an Uncle Sam costume. The crowd starts chanting U-S-A, U-S-A. Chris Robinson, the lead singer of the Black Crowes, did not take kindly to that chant and basically chastised the audience.
“Some of us have real faith. And for those of you who—some of us are not afraid, and we most assuredly are not ignorant. So, thank you.”
And a lot of people walked out. And by the way, I get it because Chris Robinson started it. I mean, all they did was chant U-S-A, U-S-A. So all of a sudden, it becomes a political rally because he puts a picture of Uncle Sam up. They chant U-S-A, and he decides to go on a tirade. He expressed his beliefs, his political beliefs. Now, you could say that maybe he should not have, but he did. And what is wrong with that? That was not even a political belief.
There is nothing wrong with them chanting U-S-A, and there is nothing wrong with him feeling like, “I do not want that vibe at my concert.” What vibe? Obviously, it felt wrong to him that they supported the U.S.A. That is not—really? So you think that when people chant U-S-A, that is only just in support of the country? I do not think it is racist. I am not saying anything but racist. Do not bring a word into this conversation that nobody else brought up. What is it? A Trump chant. Exactly.
There are a lot of people, first of all, military people who are chanting U-S-A are not necessarily saying—I do not know what the people in that audience—I do not know what the people in the audience, what their politics are. I do not know what their politics are. But whatever was being said there, he felt it. He received it a certain way. Why cannot he express his beliefs? Because you have got military people and they are not necessarily—why cannot he express his beliefs? But what beliefs? They are just saying U-S-A because they are in the—
What I do not get here is you are saying that Chris Robinson was wrong to do this, but you are okay with the artists dropping out of America 250. Yes. How does that—because the artists who dropped out were deceived. And Chris Robinson is just starting a fight. What were they deceived about? A celebration for America. Why not go? Because it is a partisan event. This is not partisan. You say U-S-A and you got a picture of Uncle Sam and you got a bunch of military people who are saying U-S-A. They take the oath. They are the ones fighting. So if they say U-S-A, you are also assuming that everybody in the audience that was chanting U-S-A was there from the military. No, but you said—I said there were people from the military there. I do not know. I have no idea. I did not see the people chanting. I am just telling you that clearly Chris Robinson received it a certain way.
“This is Anna from Austin, Texas. I always think about ‘Fortunate Son’ and the songs that came out around Vietnam, and I think musical protest is really American. So in a way it is good to protect that. While it can be unnecessary drama, it is kind of the state of where we are right now. On the Freedom 250 stuff, I think it is classic Trump administration tactic stuff. You know, making it all about Trump and these petty dramas, which is the least patriotic thing you can really do. Although these days, it is harder to tell if these are planned distractions or if Trump is just getting really senile. I mean, the tweet is crazy and manic, and it would have been better if he just kept his mouth shut. I am learning now that it is not canceled, and I did not think it would be because sometimes Trump is like a loud poodle but on a leash.”
Oh god. But how great is “Fortunate Son”? Oh, and how does that align with what you just said? Because you love “Fortunate Son.” “Fortunate Son” was great and it was a protest. Because when you were young and you were protesting it was okay, and now you are old and when people protest, you are like, “Oh, they are out of line and this is America.” Actually, no. I was saying they had a right to say it because it is not political if you say that.
Coming up, the final season of Euphoria came to an end last night, but the creator of Euphoria, Sam Levinson, was talking about one of the most controversial, I guess, parts of this final season. They had a completely different idea going in, and then Sydney Sweeney weighed in. Be right back.
Well, the final season of Euphoria came to an end last night. No major spoilers here. I thought—in case you have not—did we not? Well, yes. If you go to the website, you might see a spoiler or two, but we are not going to do any here. But the creator of Euphoria, Sam Levinson, was talking about one of the most controversial parts of this final season, which was Sydney Sweeney’s character and her role as basically an OnlyFans model and some of the outrageous things she was doing for money that they showed in a lot of detail. So after the final episode, he was talking to the New York Times about shooting those scenes with Sydney. They had a completely different idea going in, and then Sydney weighed in.
“Well, it is funny. When I first wrote it, I thought, maybe we shoot all of this and we just don’t have any nudity or anything. And I was talking to her about maybe there are ways to shoot around certain things, and she looked at me and she is like, ‘Are you kidding? I am playing an OnlyFans model. You are telling me you are going to skirt around it?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, okay. That is a fair point.’ And so there is always a discussion of what works best for the character. I think she is a totally fearless actor.”
It is so on brand for Sydney Sweeney that she embraces her sexuality and she uses it artistically. She uses it commercially. It is so on brand for her to say, “Are you kidding me? This is the character that I am going to dance around?” She has got to say you wrote the character to be doing this stuff, and then you are not going to show it. I get it. I think she also likes that character. She does like the character. It is also interesting Sam has got a lot of backlash for episodes and certain scenes. So it is interesting that Sydney was actually going too far with sexuality. They thought he was exploiting her. Correct. There was a lot of sexual—and meanwhile, she is the one making—she loves it. Well, maybe that is why Sam said that so that he could kind of deflect there and answer to all the people who were saying that I am exploiting her.
Oh my god, people are just so ridiculous. And if you look at Sydney Sweeney with her lingerie ads, her sexuality is out there. She owns it. She is the Marilyn Monroe type, right? And the idea that, “Oh my god, I am recoiling because you are making me an OnlyFans model.” No, it is Sydney Sweeney. Come on.
“Hey Harvey, Charles, and our peeps. Flo Starks here from McKinney, Texas. Listen Harvey, I agree with you. I think that Sydney is comfortable playing the character of Cassie, and she appears on OnlyFans. We know nudity is associated with that world. So sure, we can have a conversation about set protections, exploitation, even over-objectification of women, but she is an actor who made an informed artistic choice, and we have got to respect it. She is doing things on her own terms. And you all mentioned this earlier in an earlier clip about younger generations. They just think differently. So they do not necessarily take a look at what dignity looks like through modesty. They are more interested in controlling their narratives and having agency. So I think we have got to respect her decision whether we agree with it or not.”
Right on. Absolutely.
Every weekend we put polls up on the website. We are going to find out how you feel about things we did last week. Here are the results.
Trump will go to the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden. Yes, he cannot quit New York City, or no way New York City has quit him. The first. Yeah, he is going. That is closer than I thought. Yeah. MSG crowd reaction to Trump: light applause or loud booing? They are going to go loud booing. Yep. Of course. They are saying he is going to go, but they are going to hate him.
Who you got in the Finals? Spurs or Knicks? I said Knicks. Knicks. Yeah. How about that? Okay. Do not know if that helps them on the court.
This one I am fascinated by. Better singer: Ariana Grande or Susan Boyle? And of course, Susan Boyle has been in the headlines because it was the anniversary of her—I think they are going to say Ariana, just because she is more—I think they are going to say Susan Boyle. Wow. I like that. That was pretty representing. That was a good question, man. Wonder who came up with it.
Brunch bus is killing it. Not just any brunch bus. our. Is there another brunch bus? There might be. There is another brunch bus. We now have an all-new Hollywood brunch bus with all new spots. So look who was hosting this weekend on the brunch bus: Brandi Glanville, who always brings the party. She brought the party, and she and her co-host James Moss wanted to celebrate their podcast. It is called the Unfiltered Podcast. They are hilarious together, and they brought that podcast energy to the bus as we go to all these new spots.
We stopped at some brand new spots. We start at a place called Hollywood Distillery, and they give us these delicious lavender drinks called Purple Lush drinks. And so we cheers to those at our first stop. It was amazing. Then we go to St. Felix, which we have been to before, but they surprised Brandy and James with this French toast with fire coming out of it to congratulate them on their podcast. And then we ended at Madame Tussauds, where there are all these wax figures of A-list stars. There is Kylie Jenner. So you could see Kylie Jenner if you go on this. You could see Jamie Foxx if you go on this. That is about as animated as she would be if you saw her in real life. So it is fine. It is true.
“Hey everybody, it is your girl Lady Couture, the voice of all media diva. I want to talk about the whole Jay-Z freestyle at the Roots Picnic, basically clapping back at everybody. He did an amazing job. I was not expecting the fro, but I can tell he uses shea butter. But basically, Jay-Z was not looking for attention. He was basically responding after years of being silent while people questioned his legacy, attacked his family, and criticized his business moves. He had every right to do this. He was basically letting Drake know, ‘Hey, the numbers are cute and all, but I helped build you.'”
Oh, I love it. “The numbers are cute.” Yeah. Ultimate diss. That is basically what he was saying. Diss. Okay. By the way, nice record collection. True statement.
“Hi, I am Amina from Cliffwood, New Jersey. I am going to talk about Serena Williams. I am excited for her. I am excited that she is coming out of retirement. Hopefully she can get ready for the U.S. Open this summer. Venus has still been playing, so I do not see why she—”
Wait, wait, wait. Are you talking singles at the U.S. Open? Maybe. Maybe. You know that that is what she is working up to, right? I mean, this is not coming back just to play doubles. That would be amazing. Doubles is definitely just to dip your toe in the water. Although, she will not answer that. She will go on the Today show and say, “I cannot believe you asked me that question.” Singles.
Taylor Swift has revealed the countdown is over. That has been going on for a couple weeks now, I think. The wedding. Not about her wedding, but Toy Story. You see the T.S. that was in the countdown. I thought that was Taylor Swift. We all thought it was Taylor Swift, but it was in Toy Story font. And the reveal is that she has an all-new original song that is going to be on the new Toy Story soundtrack, and there will be seven other versions of it available in different—well, most likely, yes, there will be.
When is the wedding? This summer. Stay tuned. I wonder if they will do a countdown for the wedding too. No, definitely not. This is the top-secret nuclear secret of weddings. We will see you tomorrow.
