The controversy surrounding Elon Musk has taken another turn, with The View once again finding itself at the center of backlash. This time, the long-running talk show was forced to issue an on-air apology after making inflammatory and baseless claims about the billionaire entrepreneur.

The incident in question involved The View co-host Joy Behar, who implied—without any evidence—that Musk was “pro-apartheid” simply because he was born in South Africa during the apartheid era. Behar’s remarks sparked immediate outrage, with critics pointing out the hypocrisy of making such an accusation with no factual basis.

“I’m getting some flak because I said that Musk was pro-apartheid,” Behar admitted during the apology segment. “I don’t really know if he was, but for sure, he grew up at that time when apartheid was in full effect. Maybe he was, maybe he wasn’t—he might have been a young guy too. Might have been. So don’t be suing me, okay, Elon?”

Behar’s half-hearted apology, filled with vague justifications and deflections, only fueled further criticism. Despite his contributions, including exposing government waste and inefficiency and providing taxpayer savings through initiatives like SpaceX, he continues to face unfounded criticism.

Erin Molan Weighs In

Australian journalist Erin Molan also chimed in on the controversy, slamming The View for its blatant hypocrisy. “The attempts to destroy Elon Musk continue. The Democrats are resorting to this?” she said, questioning the motives behind the attack.

She also pointed out the irony of accusing Musk of harming America when he has actively contributed to innovation, economic growth, and transparency. “Elon is doing the complete opposite [of harming America]. He’s donating his time to save taxpayers billions of dollars in fraud and waste—for free. He’s a freaking hero,” Molan declared.

‘The View’ Loses to Musk’s X Show

Adding insult to injury, Molan took a moment to highlight the success of her new show, 69X Minutes, which airs exclusively on Musk’s social media platform, X. She proudly noted that her program has outperformed The View in ratings for the past two weeks—despite only having aired two episodes.

“Just a little personal plug here,” Molan teased. “69X Minutes has out-rated The View twice over the past two weeks, and we’ve only had two shows. We’ll catch you Sunday at 4:20 p.m., only on X!”

While conservative figures and commentators are often held to an extreme standard of scrutiny, left-leaning media personalities seem to face little consequence for spreading misinformation—until public pressure forces an apology.
